Hunting safaris are very popular in Africa because you can hunt the "Big Five" and bring the trophy home. An African hunting safari is expensive though, but the money generated is often spent on increasing conservation efforts locally. The list of hunting safari resources below are, to the best of my knowledge, ethically run operations.
Africa Hunting Safari FAQ's
Limcroma Safaris is a hunting safari operator in South Africa and their web site has an excellent FAQ regarding general hunting questions. There's information about bringing in your own guns, permits, ammunition, how long it'll take to get your trophy back home and more.
African Hunting News
BigGameHunt.net offers African hunting news which includes recent hunting accidents, outbreaks of diseases affecting wildlife, changes in hunting policies and more.
Madubula Safaris
Madubula safaris has a good reputation as a fine trophy hunting operator. They don't hunt on fenced in game ranches so the experience is authentic, but this can mean you don't always return home with a trophy in hand.
African Sky Safaris
African Sky Safaris offer plains game hunting as well as the Big Five in South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana. Options include rifle hunting and bow hunting, prices are very reasonable if you're not interested in trophies.
Adventure Unlimited
Adventure Unlimited offer hunting holidays throughout the world and they have some excellent African trophy hunting packages. They offer big game hunting in South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and CAR.
Byseewah African Hunting Safaris
Byseewah African Hunting Safaris offers ethical hunting in Namibia which means, among other things, that all hunting is done on foot.
LuxuryHunts.com
Luxury hunts offers big game hunting in South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Bow-hunting in South Africa is also offered.
Kuduland Safaris
Kuduland safaris offers big game hunting in Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.
Tomkinson African Wildlife Safaris
Tomkinson African Safaris offers hunting safaris in Zambia, South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia. They also offer wingshooting in South Africa. The photo gallery shows some impressive results and the online testimonials are all positive.
Kiraba Game Lodge
Kiraba Game Lodge is dedicated to the African hunter in South Africa. Special packages are available starting at around $3000.
